   I've had separate copy-edits and page proofs, with both paper and electronic   
   manuscripts.  Usually a week or more to handle each round.  Ace even gave me a   
   chance to check page proofs on the mass-market edition after the trade   
   paperback had been out for    
   a year.     
      
   And "boffin" works for me . . .
