   But it was great story-telling, and the Yorkshire accent wasn't the   
   problem, it was the background noise.  I'm not hard-of-hearing   
   precisely, and they've tested me for that less than two years ago. I   
   test better than most old aviators.  But get me in a room with much   
   background noise and it's really hard to balance my "40 inches all   
   around" natural space with the ability to hear people sitting right next   
   to me.   
      
   One of the reasons I took such an instant liking to Brenda Clough. She   
   projects just fine.
