Taste is extraordinarily local, both in time and space. It is well
within your power to go to someplace right now and find a totally
different aesthetic. A mere air fare will do it. When my sister and I
went to China we were horrified at how horribly everything was colored.
My California syster moaned, "Do they not know about taupe?" No, they
   didn't.
