   The original question, in my understanding, was what is the best newsreader   
   for a writer who wants to check rasfc, and possibly some of the other rasf   
   newsgroups.   
      
   I had never used one outside of a university or govt lab that have their own   
   servers since this week...I had a copy of Xnews on my hard drive that I tried   
   the other night.  When I linked to eternalseptember, it made me wait to   
   download 3 years of rasfc    
   each time I connected, which made it much slower than Google Groups.  I   
   couldn't find a way to cut it down to a few months.
