   I know Critters.  There are both good things and bad things about Critters.    
   As for myself, I have certain opinions about what they are, and I can   
   understand why you might not want to go there much.  If the word count is less   
   than 2000, then a lot of    
   people would read your ms. there; a lot of the people there publish stuff in   
   the venues that you do.  I don't get why you think Critters would be inferior   
   to posting a manuscript on usenet, and asking people to read it.  I think you   
   are more likely to    
   get people fooling with you if you posted it openly on usenet hoping for a   
   serious response.  You'd meet some egos and unpleasant people in Critters, but   
   I've never met a poser troll there like in open newsgroups.
