   Why I asked this is because I got involved with a humans as pets to   
   aliens story.  (It was a vehicle for some ideas I had while I worked on   
   my cat novel.)  I've put some good stuff into it, but, in the end, it   
   is what it is.  It's 9k words as a draft, so it's kinda long for what   
   it is, too.
