|    Pseudo Star Wars    |

From: ikonoqlast@gmail.com              Recently YouTube recommended a video of a sword fight from a movie       (Zaitochi). I have long considered a revision of Star Wars, and this gave me       parts of the puzzle.               What role do my pseudo 'Jedi' serve? Samurai.               The 'Jedi' order is a lawful-neutral (sometimes/often doing bad things)       Praetorian guard for the Republic. There are other 'Force' users who aren't       Jedi though. Not 'Sith', they may very well be good guys.               So my Jedi have real powers, but whence do they derive? What are they? They       obviously use swords in a universe with energy weapons, why? Where do       non-Jedi with force powers get them?               I think the powers derive from a substance I'll call 'spice'. One dose will       either awaken force powers permanently or do nothing (as in most people). The       powers are mostly precognitive, on a very short time scale (a second or two).        Hitting a precog        with a gun is very hard (sorry, no lightsaber deflection). But powers       interfere with each other, so swords are viable.               Thoughts? Problems?               --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
