Just realized, I did abandon a mystery story I planned for a NaNoWriMo
in the research/outline stage when I realized all the nifty stuff I'd
found out had completely short circuited the motive for the murder by
the original murderer, and frankly anybody ELSE in the area. Tried to
change it to an accident covered up in panic but... no go. I'll give it
another try some day - I still like the idea of a murder in a haunted
museum, complete with ghost of the murder victim (who doesn't know
whodoneit either) trying to figure out what the heck, and I like the
   characters.
