   Well, _TIL_ is up to 956 downloads; it's moving at a glacial pace
   now and is probably grinding to a halt. Still lots more than I
   expected.

   I just sent Bill the (I hope) final proof of _The Witch of
   Syracuse), having had to restore a lot of em-dashes to the text;
   Open Office keeps dropping them, because there are no em-dashes
   in any of its fonts.

   The protagonist of my space opera is about to start having a
   crisis of conscience. He's being held by people (a) who trust
   him, mostly, but (b) the first duty of a prisoner is to escape,
   and he's working on it. Meanwhile, the villain has (c) shot and
   killed his uncle, and his Martian heritage tells him that the
   villain now owes him blood; but under most circumstances he (d)
   can't square vengeance with his oath to the Solar Patrol. He'll
   resolve it all eventually, but I dunno how many chapters it's
   going to take.
