   Nope. It's just the very first thing they learn in their "Scheduling for TV"   
   courses:   
      
         Once a show becomes popular, move it to a late night timeslot.   
      
   Here in New Zealand these same morons at TVNZ have often moved shows like   
   Stargate and Smallville into timeslots around 10:30pm or later on a weekday.   
   Then of course they simply drop the show completely claiming that the   
   "number of viewers" don't make it worthwhile ... well, duh!!   
      
   There is one free-to-air network (now owned by SkyTV) that still has people   
   with brains in the scheduling department. They have shows like Stargate:   
   Atlantis (wer on the final season now), Doctor Who, etc. in proper timeslots   
   that finish by 9:30pm.
