   Contrast with Marina Sirtis, whom I saw at ComicCon a few years   
   ago: a nice informal chatty Q&A with an auditorium full of fans.   
   "You haven't been to one of these before?" she asked one fan in   
   some surprise.  "I am the convention _queen_!"   
      
   Trek actors (and, I expect, actors from every television show of   
   every genre back to Space Patrol) pretty much fall into two   
   categories:  those who sincerely appreciate and enjoy meeting with   
   the fans, and those for whom fan contact is just a part of the job,   
   possibly a very unpleasant one.
