   Yup - and any vessel that doesn't search all visitors takes a huge   
   safety risk.   
      
   As for the guy's status, how would you know whether he's under duress?   
   And in the Trek world, which contains all sorts of weird creatures,   
   biological scans are absolutely essential.  A professional of any sort   
   should understand, and indeed welcome such a scan, as it pertains to   
   *his* safety as well.  Suppose one of his entourage is not what he/she
