   I rented a flippie "Princess Bride" once.  It had the widescreen on   
   one side and the 4:3 on the other, with the only label being a   
   fine-print thing around the hole.  That's the only flippie DVD I've   
   ever seen.   
      
   I presume that if the movie guys actually used these, we'd see players   
   with multiple read heads.  DSDD floppy disks didn't need to be   
   flipped.  But the players never built double-sided because the studios   
   never used double sided, so the studios put the "extra materials"   
   stuff onto a second disk, so the players never put in the second   
   head...  If either of them had used double sided, then the other would   
   have caught up.
