   They explained that as being unique to the space around the planet or   
   something. But later in the show, the hyperdrive thingy that crashed   
   Voyager on Hoth in the original timeline was never tried again, even   
   though it was evidently safe to use for a few minutes at a time. 5   
   years off your travel time with each small jump. Repeat until home.
