   It's a matter of record that George Takei supports and votes for   
   the party who placed his family in an internment camp.   
      
   TORONTO — Oh, my! George Takei is still not a fan of his former   
   Star Trek co-star, William Shatner.   
      
   On Friday night’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, Takei   
   repeated his opinion that Shatner is self-involved.   
      
   “Canadians have a certain image of being even-tempered and   
   friendly and all that,” said the 77-year-old actor, who played   
   Hikaru Sulu on the iconic ’60s series.   
      
   “Well, he is a person who is that way with himself. He is very   
   self-centred.”   
      
   Takei told Maher that Shatner never knew he was gay.   
      
   “It just went right over his head,” said Takei. “He was the only   
   one that didn’t know.”   
      
   Takei, who has long taken shots at Shatner in public, added: “We   
   work together and we’re professionals, so we get the work done,   
   but it’s with a lot of difficulty.”   
      
   In a 2008 interview, Shatner addressed the tension between the   
   two men.   
      
   “George has been mean to me for a long time. I mean, decades and   
   decades,” Shatner said. “I’ve never said anything. He continues   
   to be mean and I don’t know why.”   
      
   Shatner insisted he has no ill-feelings for Takei.   
      
   “For me there’s no fight,” he said. “I’m not mad at him. I’m   
   annoyed that he keeps saying bad things about me.”
