I don't hate Star Trek: Discovery.

I haven't seen enough of it to have a whole lot of opinion
about it. Some parts I liked, some parts I didn't (complete
redesign of the Klingons? Whyyyyy????) Some parts I thought
were utterly stupid (Star 'O the Show committing assault on
her captain, and she's going to ever again have any role in
the Federation on the outside of a prison cell? Really?
To quote someone from years ago on the Internet "My willing
suspension of disbelief chewed a hole in the back of my
skull and fled shrieking into the night.")

But... Details. Mis-steps, perhaps even bad ones. It's
not like True Original Trek didn't do that from time to time.

No, what I really hate beyond all expression of hatred is
that Every. Single. Damn. Studio. is going to have their
own oh-so-very-special service that you must subscribe to
at $$$/month to watch the "bait", the only offering they
have that's even remotely of any interest.

*That* scheme is what I want to see die in a fire.

If ST:D were a "pay per view" thing, I might have paid for
an episode or two, see if I like it OK, if they fix some
of the mis-steps of the first hour. (After hearing
about their warp drives now using Tardigrade Power(TM),
though, my interest has waned considerably.)
