   This episode was re-repeated on one of our Free-to-Air T.V. channels a   
   couple of days ago.   
      
   Although they seemed to be of a similar age, the fact that Mitchell was   
   "only" the navigator and one or two comments that Mitchell made had me   
   thinking Kirk might have been Mitchell's Tutor/Instructor at Star Fleet   
   Academy.
