|    Picard    |

From: thetruemelissa@gmail.com              I tried the pilot of Picard. My first takeaway was how old Patrick       Stewart is. Should he be working?              They're mostly setting up arcs. Picard apparently topped out at the       captain level in this timeline, though he makes admiral in most.              Picard keeps having dreams about Data. Some young woman kicks a lot of       butt and apparently is Data's daughter, though she has human memories.       Picard is merely knocked back by an explosion which destroyed an       android, though he could barely manage a trot earlier. I really, really       hope they don't try to present him as an action hero, because that's       just nuts at this point. It didn't really make sense even on TNG.              Turns out that positronic androids always come in pairs, like Sith. That       explains Data and Lore, I guess, although that was already explained.       Also, some Borg.              I feel like not much happened. There was no resolution to anything, just       setup for the future.              I guess it's worth trying a little more. The pace is so slow that I       don't have to pay close attention, so I can play another episode or two       as I pack to move.              --       Trustworthy words are not pretty;       Pretty words are not trustworthy.              -Lao-Tzu spoke those pretty words.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
