   And failing. School board members they elect one year tend to be   
   removed the next. This has been going on since at least the 90s (Texas   
   State-level board). Oklahoma recently managed to shed a real MAGA   
   stinker. Oklahoma is hardly a hotbed of anti-MAGA sentiment.   
      
   Their latest dodge, trumpeting "parental control" crashes and burns as   
   soon as parents realize that by "parental control" they mean "our   
   control, parents be damned".   
      
   In some cases, entire school boards have been replaced with sane   
   people. Well, sane compared to MAGA/religious right, anyway. With   
   tailgate parties to celebrate the change.   
      
   As to "indoctrination", until the ability to think critically   
   deveiops, /all/ education is indoctrination.    
      
   Indeed, the whole point to universal primary education was to   
   /indoctrinate/ the children of immigrants in the American way of doing   
   things. But MAGA/religious right don't want that, it might give "them"   
   the idea that they are actually human beings instead of just animals.
