[continued from previous message]              culture in action, then the audience will know what it means and wonder       whether the humans will ask for this process. As usual with the writing       of the clueless hack Davies, it turns out to be all for nothing.              Severance turns out to be a code word for a virus the powers-that-be       have created to infect the fish lizards. Why isn't the development of       the virus shown? Show, not tell. If you're not going to show it then why       not just have the fish lizards being killed off by natural bacteria just       as H. G. Wells does with the Martians in TWOTW. This would then       reinforce humanity's helplessness and is better writing than coming up       with a conspiracy pulled out of thin air because...              Ninety percent of the fish lizards are killed by the virus and they       surrender. Is Tovey the one who transmitted it to them after he was       injected? Why didn't it affect his fish lizard girlfriend who told him       to ask for accord then?              So that's the story... What purpose do Tovey and UNIT serve in it?       Nothing whatsoever as the virus could have easily been transmitted in       the conferences room, or from the atmosphere, or water, without       detection, so what's the point of them having them in it at all? Instead       the story should have concentrated on the politicians developing the       virus. No, they should have just adapted The War of the Worlds set in       modern times just as Orson Welles did in the 1930s instead of coming up       with a degenerate narrow minded woke lecture which is totally       meaningless since it's built on a false narrative and patchwork of woke       lies.              Instead of Germany in both world wars, Russia could have served as the       antagonist concealed is allegory, but unlike TWOTW there is no       algological foreshadowing of anything in The Woke Between the Land and       the Sea. It's in-your-face woke propaganda which isn't either challenged       or discussed, which means an intelligent audience will reject it.              Everything was inserted as pure padding for a story which should only       have lasted 30 minutes at most if it was written well. The Sarah Jane       Adventures did story telling infinitely better than this.              At the end the remaining fish lizards are given a new home at the bottom       of a 7 mile deep sea trench in the Pacific. What's wrong with their       existing trench? Isn't 5 miles deep enough? Why not just exterminate the       whole lot of them thus preventing them from threatening humanity ever again.              Tovey dives off with the fish lizard, to the sound of "We Could be       Heroes", after Kate gets a message from his doctor who diagnoses       something the matter with him which is never explained. Has he developed       gills? Is this what "accord" means, breeding with the fish lizards?              After this Kate Stewart sees a man throw a plastic bottle onto a beach       and then demands that he pick it up, and when he doesn't and it's taken       away by the tide she pulls a gun on him.              Complete, utter and absolute, woke garbage.              0/10              --       The True Doctor https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCngrZwoS0n21IRcXpKO79Lw              "To be woke is to be uninformed which is exactly the opposite of what it       stands for." --William Shatner              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
