   Of course, the above is mainly a myth anyway - the ancient Chinese also   
   put the saucer UNDER their tea cups. There are numerous different   
   reasons doing that, including being able to hold the saucer rather than   
   the hot cup.   
      
   These days saucers are mainly used in posh places. Mostly people just   
   use a mug without a saucer to drink their tea or coffee.
