   So far all I've seen are assertions on this subject from both sides.   
      
   It seems like a fairly straightforward question. What were the terms on   
   which the Finns traded with the Soviets? If (say) they took Soviet grain   
   in exchage for Finnish machinery, how did the rate at which the two   
   exchanged compare with rates on the world market? If the Soviets bought   
   with rubles, how did the prices they paid compare with world prices,   
   evaluating rubles at their market exchange rate not their official   
   exchange rate?
