   It is very rare for someone to hand someone else the contents of his   
   wallet, or his television and stereo, without getting anything   
   observable in exchange. So when such happens, there is good reason to   
   believe that it's theft or robbery, not a gift. On the other hand, it is   
   very common for two people to have intercourse without any payment by   
   either, and not all that uncommon for two people who are almost complete   
   strangers to do so.

   Yes. If you read what I wrote more carefully, you will note that   
   "killing people isn't" refers to "in most circumstances, legal and   
   fairly common." The only circumstance in which killing people is legal   
   and at all common is warfare. There are other special circumstances,   
   such as a risky medical operation, but they don't satisfy either "in   
   most circumstances" or "common."

   "Brainwashed into" meaning "hold different views on the subject than you   
   do?" Presumably animals that exhibit similar patterns of behavior have
