   I'd feel happier if the intent of "gutless wonder [etc]" were   
   represented by the words "gutless wonder [etc]" (or similar) rather than   
   by words that, particularly in this context, unwittingly reinforce a   
   stereotype that 'effeminate' or homosexual men are gutless wonders.
