   I don't see why you think so.  So far as I can see, she and   
   Helen are simply describing current British usage.  As I   
   pointed out a few days ago, the current Concise Oxford   
   recognizes *only* this one meaning, and Mike D., who is   
   familiar with the original broader sense, said that 'it's   
   certainly an old-fashioned usage here if not yet archaic'.
