   Or other molecules that are large enough to stay in tanks without   
   leaking, and are easy to liquify.  Matt Simmons was trying to get   
   funding to build a bunch of windmills on the Grand Banks.  Shallow   
   water, not blocking anyone's view, steady winds, but too far out to   
   run cables.  His plan was to generate ammonia, ship that to shore, and   
   burn it onshore.  I'm not clear whether he was hoping to develop an   
   ammonia-based vehicle fuel infrastructure, or just burn it in power   
   stations once it got to land.   
      
   The venture collapsed when he died of a heart attack.
