   justify by noting that ‘people have died using any of them’;   
   it is hardly pedantry to point out that this, while true, is   
   irrelevant to the initial assertion.

   If that was the point, you should not have made the much   
   stronger assertion that ‘Horse travel is just as safe as any   
   other form of transport’.
