   One fractal concept is space filling curves. Those are *exactly* the   
   way you should be planning to serve an area with transit systems. It   
   requires no great new technology to accomplish, just a bit of improved

   That's my point; we don't currently *require* that, but we *have* that   
   because the wrong people are deciding what gets implemented. It could   
   be argued that the whole split between sci-fi utopia vs. dystopia comes   
   down to not technology changes, but whether or not the idiots in charge   
   get booted out the door.
