In London you are almost always within 100 feet of a bus stop. It might
not connect directly to your destination but it connects to other routes
   which probably do.

I'm now living in Manchester and within 100 feet of my door are four bus
stops, two of them on what I am told is the busiest bus route in Europe.
At peak times buses carrying 85 passengers leave every three minutes in
   each direction.
