   Here in New Zealand (no doubt stolen from somewhere else) there's a   
   slogan they use to encourage drivers to enter the motorway sensibly:   
   "Merge like a zip" (i.e. the car coming up the on-ramp merges into a   
   gap between cars already on the motorway) ... unfortunately most   
   drivers use the "merge like a race track with a "me first" attitude.

   It's the same brainless selfish idiocy that you also see on the   
   motorway and normal roads where some moron thinks they are being clever   
   zig-zagging up the lanes trying to get ahead of everyone else ... when   
   in reality they're adding to the congestion by trying to push in and   
   almost always end up only a couple of cars ahead or I pass them on a   
   green turn traffic light while they're waiting in the red lane. :-\
