   And that's the reason cars became and remain so entrenched. As a sunk   
   cost, people do a lot with it to justify such a major purchase. Unless   
   you can eliminate the "need" for a car completely, it is too tempting to   
   see the non-car things as the extra expenses.   
      
   That's why I assert that a delivery (or transit) service is better   
   offered as consumer-directed rather than business-directed. Convince   
   people they don't have to spend $20K+ on a vehicle, and you'll find they   
   have a lot more spare cash to give you. :-)
