   Keep in mind that it doesn't have to "see" them in detail every time.   
   When you have a world full of machines that can always scan and share   
   what they see, the main thing that needs to be seen immediately are what   
   has *changed* since the last time something was recorded. If that   
   traffic sign has been the same for years, it could be covered in snow   
   today and the machine would be able to "see" it. Human memory can take   
   a guess, but I'd sure rather have an augment reality windshield that   
   helped fill in the gaps.   
      
   Hmmm. Puts me in the mind to write a new app. One that records video   
   of your commute, but plays back video of your (or other's) previous   
   travels along your same coordinates/direction. Timeshifting the world   
   to one of better visibility; doable with today's technology.
