Snowboarding. I'm jealous.              *You're* jealous? I was just humping a bump on the earth. My brother is       hitting the Rockies mid-March! But he can't ski or board yet though, so       there *is* some justice.              > Looks like fun except I remember someone       > who was a victim of an avalanche and she       > became paralysed in her twenties.              That's tragic, sorry to hear that.              >In any case,       > I can't snowboard but like to hike up mountains       > where an avalanche could happen, but I stick       > with the trail rather than the backcountry stuff.              You might like cross-country skiing. Very peaceful, no hazards, and it's       a great workout.                     > I won't peg your age. I knew someone fifty-ish       > who snowboarded; regardless, I'm tempted to put in your       > late twenties.              A few yrs older. I spent all of my teens and twenties doing racket       sports; thought I'd try out some of the 'dangerous' stuff while my body       can still take the beating. If you're not crazy and reckless on the       slopes, I think it's possible to handle it through your fifties and even       sixties. I plan to continue doing everything I'm doing now until my       seventieth, and then, as I told Diana, I'll be channelling all my       energies towards the drums.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
