   i chased my poetry   
   up a flagpole and it slitherered down   
   leaving me conjugating the kama sutra   
      
   there are two tenses   
   the present tense and the really present tense   
   the really present tense applies   
   upright beds disguised as pine trees   
      
   i kissed the scratches on her knees   
   as if they were offspring   
   i dug a needle from her left buttock   
   and filled her bank accounts   
   with monopoly money   
      
   luckily   
   the doctor agreed   
   my mind is not a communicable disease   
      
   i cook my oysters on a grill   
   with a sprinkling of cilantro   
   and louisana hot sauce   
      
   so does she
