XPost: alt.religion.wicca, alt.arts.poetry.comments, alt.writing       XPost: alt.magick       From: Aetyr@nc.rr.com              Beneath it all I sense a genuine question.       Yes, it works, but it doesn't work all the time.       Those who indulge in it, don't emphasize the failures, they prefer to see       the glass as half full, rather than half empty. Pessimism destroys your       odds of success, which is quickly learned.       Like ESP, which is proven solely thu statistics, magical success can be       statistically proven to work a percentage of the time....but, you have to be       very specific on how you track your results and "experiments".              Do some people that you know seem lucky? If you have this in your sights,       WHY do you think they experience luck? Do you believe in luck? Do you       believe in bad luck? Do you believe that you have had bad luck? If you do,       why do you believe that?              Most people think that they have had luck, good or bad, when things happen       that they have not contributed to causally, in a significant way. Do you       know a poet who got a "lucky break'? What is luck?              Anytime you are dealing with a deity, or the concept of luck, you are       already in Shez's shoes. Be careful about what you are thinking.       Pip       "Pertial" |
