   >
   >It's a history thing - Will dragged the thread out of RAP. As I recall,
   >you're first contribution was to say you were some sort of critic and
   >our standards of writing were low. No mention of witchery and you
   >"dissed" first.

( I take it poets are lacking in a sense of humour...) I didnt say I was
a critic try reading it again... I have said in several posts that I am
neither a poet or a poetry critic.... I do however have a very warped
   sense of humour..
   >>.
   >>Now perhaps next time you decide to dis someone's beliefs you will
   >>remember that your beliefs are just as easy to ridicule.
   >
   >Exactly - dis not (first) lest ye be dissed. Spell-checker seems to
   >have recovered, by the way.

No idea I have no idea what it douse or why it douse it, I simply let it
do its thing... anything that makes my life easier I like.
   >>
   >>I don't care what you think you are, or what you think I am, I am happy
   >>in my own skin, I don't get mad when people tell me that magick doesn't
   >>exist, because I know for them it really doesn't exist.
   >>Just now and again it would be nice if people like you would remember
   >>that you don't have the right to decide what or if my beliefs are wrong
   >>or right. Your own beliefs are not sacrosanct..
   >>Learn to be less judgmental and you wont find me winding up your string.
   >
   >Don't be ridiculous. Why should I be less judgemental? Why should
   >you?. Your original contribution to this thread WAS a judgement.
   >You're correct that no-one has the right to decide (in the wider sense
   >of community) that your beliefs are wrong but we have the right to
   >express our opinion that you're wrong - and vice versa.

Then don't get upset when people return the favour and start telling you
or the poetry groups in general that they cant write for toffee.
Being dyslexic doesn't stop you being able to think, or feel, or do.. In
fact it makes you work a dam sight harder because you have to be twice
as good simply to stand still..
I am amazed that a group of people who say they write poetry which is
usually associated with some emotional sensitivity, finds it difficult
to accept someone who has dyslexia..
Being able to spell or being a wizz at grammar isn't the be all and end
all of literature. An amazing amount of Authors cant spell, that's what
   copy assistants are for....
Poetry is only the use of words in a way that pleases and educates, a
good poet can touch your emotions and your memory. a bad poet doesn't
understand emotions and is as sensitive as a brick.
   >>
   >>
   >>>Yet, in a world which would define you as a fairly delusional newsgroup,
   >>>the poets come across as almost functional.
   >>
   >>Poets are by nature out of the loop, like witches they have baggage..
   >>If your male and a poet your by definition effeminate, crazy,
   >>delusional, drug addicts, sex maniacs and a few other things.
   >
   >The problem with your argument is that the world of the arts could name
   >dozens of respected poets who give the lie to your stereotype. I don't
   >think you could make the same claim for the witchy world.

Really... The stereotype of witches would include anyone who uses magick
in any way I take it, How about Doctor Dee. Nostradamus, Solomon, The
Witch of Endor, Jesus, in literature Merlin, Circe, all those fairy
tales with a good witch... Wizard of Oz.. we could both go on for hours
   no doubt.

What I was trying to get across is that the stereotype is often just
that... it is not real, its a generalisation. And generalisations are
never true for the majority of people.
Witches are just people, they wear ordinary clothes they have jobs,
family's, worry about the mortgage, complain about the tax system, do
the housework and generally look about as normal as you can get.. Its
something we are very good at.. In times past we would be good members
of a local church.. Possibly even one of the church worthies, witches
can be judges, lawyers, doctors journalists, bank tellers, builders,
plumbers teachers, bus drivers, authors, poets and street cleaners.
Unless they told you they were a witch you would never know.
   >>
   >>Its never a good idea to target other groups when your in a group that
   >>can so easily be targeted by those who don't like people stepping
   >>outside what they consider the norm for society.
   >>It doesn't matter to me what turns you on, its your life and your
   >>choices, As a witch I learned long ago that the so called norm doesn't
   >>exist and that all the people who try to shoe horn themselves into so
   >>called normality fit like a round peg in a square hole. Not to
   >>suprisingly they end up with mental and physical problems, that trying
   >>to live in the so called norm of society produces
   >> I celebrate difference. I have always lived my life with enthusiasm and
   >>I don't hide my differences, not even my disability's such as dyslexia,
   >>People accept me warts and all or they don't accept me, I accept them
   >>warts and all, I don't expect perfection from myself or my friends and
   >>family. . as my differences hurt no one, its suprising how easily people
   >>accept someone who is confident and at ease in their own skin.
   >>
   >>
   >>>
   >>>By the way, I can understand why your spell-checker doesn't correct your
   >>>"your" or "where" but how come it accepts "beleiver"?

I don't know.. Its a spellchecker it not yet capable of giving me a
rational answer, occasionally it hiccups, Its American originally I
beleive and I know that it often spells words the American way and not
the British way, if you want to give it the third degree, be my guest..

Words like your, which, witch, whether and weather are confusing if your
dyslexic you cant see the differences and the worlds tend to look the
same. I have to make a real effort to spell Their and there correctly
and still get it confused because my mind doesn't register it as
different. If I was severely dyslexic I would not be able to work out
what words mean at all, the symbols would make no sense,
The mildly dyslexic spell things badly... those like myself who are in
the middle somewhere have problems with spelling and with Grammar, Its
difficult to learn the rules of grammar if you cant read,
I didnt learn to read properly until I was a teenager, once however I
made sense of words you couldn't keep my nose out of a book...
Dyslexia didnt exist when I was young, and its only well into my middle
age that I found out what my problem was. My hand writing is
appalling... I learned to type when I was very young because my writing
was so bad I wouldnt have been able to get the education I wanted
