I watch broadcast news to see what is being told to the other proles.

I happen to hate reality TV and agree that it is not worth watching but
there are some interesting shows on PBS and amusing shows on broadcast.
But I like to watch stuff I missed when I was working too hard to watch
   TV.
I love Raymond Burr as Perry Mason, Belzer as Munch in Homicide Life On
The Streets, I watched the Closer series, and still turn to Major Crimes
   for
the story of Rusty Beck and the detectives of the Major Crimes Squad,
   followed
by Rizzoli and Isles. I would watch NYPD Blue all over again.

For none of those is 4 K essential but I watch them on my Hannspree
   1080x1920.

Those streaming services are out of my reach. I prefer to have a good
computer and unlimited download for my Linux .iso files.

I watch from about 6 feet away and used to notice the pixels but with
   my present
quality of vision I cannot say that I do. This is written on a 17 inch
   screen on my
   laptop from about 24 inches.

One can only imagine as the difference between analogue Cathode
Ray Tube TV and digital flat screens is so pronounced. I find it
   increasing difficult to
read online Manga on it, still I persist.
