Actually San Francisco has multiple high points that will be the Islands
of San Francisco for a while. It may even retreat South along the high
   points
of the Peninsula for a while. Eventually it will be overwhelmed and if
   foresight is
thought may retreat to the higher points of Northern California. The
   Peninsula
and the Golden Gate (which is not a bridge) will reappear after the next
   ice age
and the Golden Gate will feature a spectacular waterfall thousands of feet
to the Pacific Ocean level. Athistic monastaries will preserve much
   knowlege
of the fall of the Fire Wizards who brought disaster upon the world for
power and wealth by catering to the vast demands for convenience in
transport and inordinate luxury. Eventually the site of ancient San
   Francisco
will be excavated and under many layers of silt wonderful works from
the time of the Fire Wizards will be revealed. Even the anchor points of
the ancient Golden Gate Bridge will be uncovered. Making or building
any form of the IC engine will be anathema.

The monasteries will never let the folly of the Fire Wizards be forgotten
   hopefully.
