   It is my understanding that there is a fundamental disagreement between   
   Ringo and Weber on what role Roger would have in Book #5. I am of the   
   opinion that he has to stay on Terra (perhaps with trips to vital   
   planets not on the front lines) to clean up the mess. If this   
   "sidelines" the series protagonist, tough. That job has to be done and   
   he is the only one who can do it. He has experienced naval officers to   
   hunt down and destroy Jackson's fleet (and the Saint's fleet as well) if   
   somebody makes sure they have the ships to do that job.
