|    [OT] The Mystery of Heinrich Himmler    |
|    24 Dec 25 16:05:48    |
From: no_offline_contact@example.com              Heinrich Himmler, as any student of WWII knows, was one of the top Nazis       in Hitler's regime, commanding the SS. As the war drew to a close,       Himmler attempted to make a deal with the Western Allies - the US, UK       and British Empire - so that they could join with Germany to fight the       Soviets. He wasn't able to make that deal and when Hitler found out       about it, he was livid and ordered Himmler's arrest. Himmler escaped him       and went into hiding but was soon arrested by the British a few weeks       after the war ended. A few days later, he was dead, reputedly the result       of biting on a cyanide capsule hidden in his teeth.              It turns out that there is quite a lot of evidence that the man who was       said to be Himmler after his death was NOT the real Himmler. Mark       Felton, a British historian, presents substantial evidence that the man       who died in British custody was NOT Himmler, although the man they       arrested a few days earlier almost certainly WAS Himmler. Dr. Felton has       added to the evidence already existing that the man identified as       Himmler was not actually him by doing AI-based comparisons of the dead       man with photos of Himmler.              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYXWOxZf5-U [22 minutes]              Quite an interesting find since it inevitably raises the question of       what happened to the real Himmler if the dead man was a ringer. Felton       doesn't tackle that question though so we may need to wait for a further       video to see what his theory is about that.              --       Rhino              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
