   Based on the short story by Stephen King of the same name, from his collection   
   NIGHT SHIFT.   
      
   Of course expanding a 15-page story into a full-length movie pretty much meant   
   they were going to write their own tale that bears little resemblance to   
   King's and just use the wind-up monkey as pretty much the only story element   
   that survives the transition.
