The setup was he had to stop practicing surgery because he suddenly
couldn't stand the sight of blood. I have no idea if that's a thing.

For me, it was the same script from one episode to the next. The
characters were all cardboard. Some crazy character did something to
embarass the lead character, who is some sort of highly repressed
individual in all human interaction. When he gave sound medical advice,
   he was nearly always ignored.

I didn't find any of it entertaining.

However, I've seen Martin Clunes on other television and his performance
   is fine.

In the United States, it was distributed to public television stations
as first-run syndicated foreign programming through American Public
   Television, not through PBS.

The concept has been sold to be adapted in a half dozen countries already
for domestic broadcast. The U.S. adaptation is the seventh. They are
   really exploiting this concept.

   >>>>Martin Clunes is an excellent actor, and I like Caroline Catz also.

   >>>>The show ran for 10 seasons and has an 8.4 IMDb rating:

   >>>>https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408381/

   >>>>That said, Josh Charles is not Martin Clunes, and I have no idea if this
   >>>>show will be any good. Are American remakes of foreign shows ever any
   >>>>good? The US remake of the wonderful Gran Hotel was a complete failure,
   >>>>unlike the Egyptian and Mexican remakes.
