       Apple TV To Develop Films & Shows Based on Popular Fantasy Books

       Apple TV has launched development on a new screen adaptation based   
       on a bestselling fantasy book universe. As early production gears   
       up, the team remains tight-lipped about specific titles, focusing   
       instead on building out a broader multi-format franchise.   
      
       Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive books get   
       film and TV adaptations   
       Apple TV has secured the rights to Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere   
       universe, with plans to develop the Mistborn series into feature   
       films and The Stormlight Archive as a television series (via The   
       Hollywood Reporter). The deal gives Sanderson extensive creative   
       control, including roles as writer, producer, consultant, and   
       final decision-maker on the screen adaptations.   
      
       Blue Marble, led by former WME agent Theresa Kang, has begun   
       production on The Stormlight Archive series. The agreement gives   
       Brandon Sanderson direct authority over all aspects of the   
       adaptation process. This level of control is rare for an author.   
      
       Sanderson finalized the deal after meeting with several major   
       studios in a competitive bidding process. He now oversees the   
       Cosmere's transition to screen, managing continuity and creative   
       execution across all projects. He has sold over 50 million books   
       worldwide and built a large, loyal global readership. Through   
       crowdfunding, he raised nearly $100 million in total. A Kickstarter   
       campaign for four novels alone generated almost $42 million,   
       setting a record for the platform.   
      
       Mistborn follows magic users who harness metal-based powers to   
       challenge a totalitarian empire. The Way of Kings, the first book   
       in The Stormlight Archive, unfolds on a world plagued by magical   
       storms and inhabited by knights and ancient creatures called   
       Voidbringers.   
      
       Both series belong to the Cosmere mythos, a shared universe   
       spanning multiple worlds. These worlds connect through shards of a   
       god-like being whose shattered power distributes different forms   
       of magic across the cosmos.   
      
       WME and attorney Matthew Sugarman of Weintraub Tobin represent   
       Sanderson. His annual fan convention will return on December 3-5,
