   The people at the top of our Western countries couldn't admit to this   
   while it was still possible for us to stop them. The fact that they are   
   getting so open about their plans suggests that they are confident that   
   they can't be stopped any longer. I think they're reckoning that most   
   people wouldn't have the stomach for the amount of force it might take   
   to stop it so will just live with it, however unhappily. Most Western   
   countries have disarmed their people and *all* of them have limited   
   their ability to own weapons.   
      
   I just hope people are sufficiently discontented to resist this in very   
   substantial numbers. If at all possible, it should be via mass protests,   
   general strikes, etc. so that some reasonable solutions might be found   
   without major bloodshed. After all, I don't think there are many of us   
   who want to deport good people who are clearly assimilating and who have   
   embraced our values.   
      
   I think there are a LOT of people who don't like the way things are   
   going with respect to immigration - legal *and* illegal - and if they   
   can only be mobilized, they could cause a massive rethink of who is   
   allowed into our respective countries and who is not meeting our minimum   
   standards and needs to leave.
