   I found myself shaking myself shaking my head in wonder at this story   
   about a man in France who apparently stuck an explosive device up his   
   own rectum:

   If I were on the bomb squad and they asked me to disarm this bomb, I   
   think I might well decline given the self-inflicted nature of this   
   situation. It's all well and good to risk your life to help an innocent   
   who has been imperilled by a bomb but when you are expected to take your   
   life in your hands to save someone who did it to themselves, I might   
   decide that is a bridge too far....   
      
   What on earth was this guy thinking? What possible good did he think   
   could come out of putting an explosive up his butt?
