I watched South Park s22e07-07, "Time to Get Cereal" and "Nobody Got
   Cereal?"

This is an interesting pair of episodes, in part because Trey and Matt
publicly apologize to Al Gore for making fun of him. Despite having come
to believe that climate change is real, they stand by representing it as
Manbearpig. The first episode has several scenes of the boys saying
things like "We're sorry, Mr. Gore. You were right," directly to the
   camera.

The boys finally grovel enough to persuade Al Gore to help them. They
summon Satan, who assists them in finding out more about the creature.
They learn that their grandparents made a deal with Manbearpig -- it
could rampage, if it let them have cars and ice cream.

The boys figure people can live without cars and ice cream, if it saves
the world... but when they try to treat with Manbearpig, it tells them
the terms have changed. Now, it will only go away if they give up soy
sauce and Red Dead Redemption 2. Just like their grandparents, they
agree to future carnage in exchange for current desires.

I'm trying to think of other instances of a show apologizing for making
fun of someone (without being forced by a court). Matt and Trey have
said that they regret the killers' club in "Butters' Very Own Episode"
(s05e14), since later evidence showed that two of the three accused
parties were probably innocent. They didn't do an episode of apology,
   though.

   What did everyone else watch?
