Stranger Things Broadway Play Is Getting a Proper Netflix Release
       -----------------------------------------------------------------
The Stranger Things Broadway show, Stranger Things: The First Shadow,
       will be coming to Netflix.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a play written by Kate Trefry,
who came up with the original story alongside the Duffer Brothers and
Jack Thorne. The show originally opened in London's West End in 2023,
and it then began its Broadway run in 2025.

The First Shadow serves as a prequel to the original Netflix Stranger
Things show, as it explores the backstory of Henry Creel before he
       became the villainous Vecna.

What is the update on the Stranger Things Broadway prequel show?
Per The Hollywood Reporter, it has now been revealed that the
Broadway production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow is being
filmed this week. The intent is for the recording to be made
available to watch on Netflix at some point in the future, though no
release date information has yet been announced.

"The goal was to capture the original Broadway cast before they depart
the production on March 29," the article states. "The production
cancelled performances from Feb. 10 through Feb. 14 to allow for
filming. Public performances are set to resume Feb. 15."

A description of the play reads, "Are monsters born... or made? In 1959
Hawkins, Indiana, the Creel family seeks a fresh start - especially
their teenage son Henry, who is eager to escape his troubled past.
Everything changes when he meets Patty, a fellow outsider, and their
budding romance gives Henry hope for the first time. But when a wave
of shocking crimes strikes the town, Henry is forced to confront a
terrifying truth: is something inside him that connects him to the
horrors unfolding around him? This gripping stand-alone adventure will
pull you deep into the world of Stranger Things -where suspense and
       spectacle lurk at every turn."

The cast of the Broadway production includes Burke Swanson as James
Hopper Jr., Alison Jaye as Joyce Maldonado, Juan Carlos as Bob Newby,
Louis McCartney as Henry Creel, and more.
