   I just watched a fascinating pair of videos about how a small number of   
   beavers transformed two places that hadn't seen them in a long time in   
   very positive ways for far less money than human engineering.   
      
   One of those places was Knapdale in Scotland; the other was the Yakima   
   River in Washington state.

   I was astonished to see just how much good the beavers did in such a   
   short time. I hope engineers around the world make use of natural   
   techniques like animal engineers whenever they can. The idea just oozes   
   brilliance. Kudos to those who advocated these techniques and to those   
   who overcame human arrogance to give it an honest try.
