   You have to be careful, though. There is a tendency to see every   
   space-opera/fantasy show post-1977 as a “Star Wars” ripoff, forgetting   
   that George Lucas himself rip^H^H^Hborrowed heavily from what came   
   before.   
      
   Lucas is like a Steve Jobs or Bill Gates of the movie world: able to   
   convince others, through sheer PR volume, that his repackaging of   
   existing ideas is something novel, unlike anything that came before.
