It's a boy's job if it is just shovelling a couple of driveways. I
suspect they are looking for a lot more than that out of these
   "volunters" (or temporary employees).

By the way, I had a guy come up to me a couple of weeks ago offering to
do my shovelling and he was way past being a kid; he was at least in his
30s. I think he said $40 but I took a pass. One time, when I had a major
accumulation on the end of my driveway and was overwhelmed, I actually
went to Yelp and looked for shovelling services. I only got one offer
and he wanted $200 (!!!). I told him he was out of his mind; he claimed
it was a typo and he meant $100. That was still too much in my opinion
so I did it myself by hand. It was a LOT of work but I got through it
with "elephant tactics" (how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a
time!). My driveway is just the standard one car-width wide and I was
only talking about the bit from the sidewalk to the road which is your
normal suburban distance but the ploughs had pushed a LOT of snow in there!
